W8activ™ - The Ultimate
Power Training System
What is Resistance?
Resistance is the force that causes our muscles to have to work, and thus expend energy. Resistance is the weight of our body, which our muscles have to move. Resistance is the water our muscles have to displace when we are swimming. Resistance is what our muscles have to work against.
Adding resistance to your body while you exercise optimizes your workout intensity to increase your strength and endurance, without increasing the length of time you workout. Increasing the load of the largest muscle groups of the body (legs and glutes) causes the system to burn more calories even when not active. Adding resistance simply allows you to get the most out of your workout in a short period of time. Time is something most people don’t have a lot of, and they don’t want to spend what time they do have working out.
Resistance signifies the force necessitating muscular effort and energy expenditure. It encompasses our body weight requiring muscle movement, the water displacement during swimming, and the challenge muscles overcome during various activities.
Enhance workout intensity through resistance integration, boosting strength and endurance without extending exercise duration. Elevate calorie burn during rest by intensifying resistance on major muscle groups like legs and glutes. Achieve efficient workout goals in limited time with
progressive resistance training. W8ACTIV, a unique exercise garment, combines resistance principles with optimal body temperature for superior fitness gains.
The key to improving strength and endurance is, progressively adding resistance!
The W8ACTIV™ is a unique exercise garment, which combines the principals of resistance training with the physiological benefit of exercising at optimum body temperature. The combined effect of weight resistance to movement and thermal balance in the soft tissues (muscle, tendons and ligaments) creates the ideal condition for maximized fitness and power development.

Beneficial effects of warm-up before any physical activity:
Any movement or activity (using the legs and hips) for 5 minutes or more will raise body temperature 1-2 degrees Celsius. This rise in inner body temperature will:
- Allow oxygen to leave the blood and enter muscles more quickly to aid the production of energy.
- Release oxygen already in muscles to increase the speed of energy production.
- Cause fluids within the muscles to become thinner and allow for smoother muscular contractions.
- Increase the speed of muscle contraction by allowing nerve signals to travel more quickly.
- Decrease the chance of injury to muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other connective tissue.
- Increase the amount of blood flow to muscles.
- Allow the body to use less energy to carry out important chemical reactions.
- Cause the heart to respond more efficiently to sudden strenuous exercise.
The importance of a cool down after any physical activity:
- Avoid pooling of blood in the muscles used – reduces the chance of cramping.
- Gradual slowing of heart rate allows for blood to return to the heart more quickly.
- This is the best opportunity to increase flexibility due to the warmth of the muscles as a result of physical activity.
Center-of-power:
- Unlike wrist and ankle weights, which can damage ligaments and joints; W8ACTIV™ builds strength and endurance right at the source of the body’s center-of-power.
- Few really understand where physical strength comes from THE BODY’S CENTER-OF-POWER: upper torso, abs (stomach), back, hips, and thighs – is where we get most of our strength and cardiovascular performance.
