His son, David Zayas Jr., replaces his father in some shots, as the two look very similar. During season one, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later in season two, the scar has migrated to his right side, leaving his left side featureless.

The complex and damaged characters, the twisted plot, and Dexter’s foster father raising him and training him to be the perfect avenger – it’s all so intoxicating! Not only is this show well acted, with each main character capturing my undivided attention, but it’s also written with such a deep intensity that I find it absolutely irresistible! I can’t wait to see more about how Dax was traumatized as a child, more about Harry’s classes, more about his growing relationship with Rita, more about the ice cream truck killer, more about forensics…
