Story
The bewitched Agatha Harkness regains her freedom thanks to the help of a teenager. Driven by her pleading, she embarks on the Witches' Experiments to regain her powers and discover the teenager’s motivations. Stars Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp and Ali Ann, along with showrunner Jac Schaeffer and executive producer Mary Livanos, talk about how the Marvel show was made.. The exterior scenes of Westview were filmed on Blondie Street at Warner Bros.
The set was previously used for Wandavision
Agatha lives in the house used in the TV series Bewitched (1964). Edited by Marvel Studios: Assembled: The Making of Agatha All Along (2024). I came to Agatha All Along without any preconceived ideas or looking into the backstory. So it wasn’t until I dug deep and watched Episode 6 (?) that I realized it had something to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe – specifically WandaVision.
I felt cheated and outraged
Well, after I got engaged with Agatha All Along, I stopped and had to watch WandaVision. While WandaVision has some critical elements like the story of Agatha All Along, it’s pretty tangential (and – IMO – a much smaller show than Agatha All Along). Well, I finished E6 and then tuned into E7-E9 and I really have to give the show credit. The acting is excellent across the board, with Hahn being outstanding as Agatha.
And it doesn’t detract too much from the overall show
The sets are unruffled, with an original perspective as the show progresses. Most importantly, the characters go through trials and are well-developed in their growth. The show maintains an engaging, adult-oriented storyline, not the usual sugarcoating where everyone is okay in the end. While I don’t think it was necessary to join the MCU, it is what it is.
I would probably watch a second season
